Over many years as an IT person, I worked with clients, one on one, teaching them how to get their computer to do what they want it to do. Often times, the client would be very frustrated. I needed to first, relieve the frustration – then determine what needed to be done to rectify the situation (through a question and answer processes). However, it is a subject that builds upon itself, so if you understand the big picture of a given topic in biology, it’s easier to expand from there.
