Hi! I'm looking forward to working this summer, and I am especially excited about the opportunity to tutor online! I graduated from TJ High in 2011, and I'm now attending High Point University as a Strategic Communication and Human Relations double major. I am also working toward a minor in Marketing. Throughout high school, I earned a 3.92 grade point average, which means in my 8 semesters, I only finished 2 classes with a grade lower than A. During this time, I took 7 AP courses (World History, Psychology, US History, Calculus AB/BC, Literature, Environmental Science, and European History), which allowed me to enter college more than a semester ahead of most of my peers.

Not every method works for every child; with one exception, patience. I demonstrate and exemplify patience. If a child feels as though they are in an atmosphere where they are safe, free of ridicule and bias, then they are willing to perform. This process can be a give take scenario however. So, some flexibility is required as well, but eventually the student will become more comfortable with themselves and confident in what they are capable of.

I began tutoring for a company called ClubZ back in January of 2008. This was a Title I program in Frederick County, and only a Title I school could participate. I had three students; a student in kindergarten needing reading assistance; a student in third grade needing math assistance, and a student in fourth grade needing reading comprehension assistance. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education, although I chose not to work in the classroom as a full-time teacher.
