SOAR Study skills Group Sessions coming Spring 2013

The gift of teaching, advising, coaching, communicating and motivating was realized early in high school by school administrator of mine. After earning my Bachelors degree in Education in 1988 I taught GED,ESL,ABE, and advised law students while running the library. I am a life long learner and have taught in prisons,(state and federal)(1988,1997-1999), public schools(1988-2007),private (1992-1998), and home schooled my own son (1992-2000). I have been certified to teach in 6 different states and taught Internationally at a private boarding school(2007-2009). I have a wide variety of experience and an innate desire to learn more about the world around me. I began my undergraduate degree in Political Science, but after taking a Biology course in California, became rather excited about the sciences. I have worked in a variety of laboratory settings, as well as in the field, applying the science that I have learned to real life situations and truly gaining a better understanding of the dynamic nature of the sciences. This is what I love. While I have over 30 years of business experience, I have followed my passion and I am now teaching at SCC. My business experience includes human resource management, accounting (manufacturing and banking), and finance.
