Tutored 2-3 days a week for many elementary school students when I was in high school. Subjects included introductory Spanish, Grammar, Writing, Composition, Writing, Typing skills and techniques, Study skills, and reading. Three years of experience in summer tutoring, helping students prepare for next grade level through workbooks, hands-on activities, and refreshing activities to recall main concepts and skills taught the previous year of school.

I graduated from UW-Madison with a BS in Dietetics. In order to obtain this degree, I had to take a wide variety of Science courses including: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, and many others. Not only am I well versed in Science, I have a background in Math too. In highschool, I completed the AP-Caluculus course with a score that allowed me to bypass any college math courses. However, I have refreshed my math skills since I recently took the Graduate Requisite Exam (GRE) and received high scores in the math section. I volunteered for the Special Olympics and for the D.A.R.E program from Elementary students back in 2003 and 2008. With the Special Olympics, I helped cook and serve food to the contestants in the olympics and I also was there to be a friendly and supportive coach-assistant to the athletes. With the D.A.R.E program, I went to Elementary schools in the town of Faribault MN, and I worked along side with the police department to show and educate kids the dangers of meeting strangers and how to handle that type of situation.

While I was a student at the College of Menominee Nation I was a tutor in the accounting and math areas. I am also very good with computers. I have been out of school for a few years, but I am always willing to help out anyone who had a question, and If I can help them out it's all the better.
I am not a teacher, but I like to think that I can help out in a way that the student or person I am tutoring will learn. A Little Bit About Me...

My favorite jobs that I have had dealt with working with children. I love working with children and making a difference in their lives. No two children are the same and that is why they deserve one on one communication. Each child has their own way of learning and that is why it is important to get to know them on a personal level.
For the past four summers I have worked in a childcare setting. Last summer I did an internship at a Headstart and the previous three summers I worked at a daycare. I spent one year tutoring accounting students who had difficulty grasping the basic concepts of accounting. I was able to explain the accounting concepts in different wording than the text books and I also created a "cheat" sheet to help them understand how to handle different accounting transactions. The students I tutored always improved their grades dramatically and quickly. This gave me immense satisfaction! I always strive to make a difference in students' lives.
I graduated from California State University at San Francisco. While there I mastered my major of accounting as well as my minor in economics. I achieved an English degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where my senior thesis was selected as a finalist for the UW Creative Writing prize. I am passionate about the English language, but I think that writing is becoming a lost art. Quality writers are quality communicators. As writing in general falls into disrepair, those who can write clearly and read critically will have an edge in every institution they enter--from the University, all the way to the workplace.
I enjoy hands-on teaching and one-on-one interaction with students. Good writing can simplify the thought process, and leads to students becoming better thinkers and communicators.
