I graduated from UW-Madison with a BS in Dietetics. In order to obtain this degree, I had to take a wide variety of Science courses including: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, and many others. Not only am I well versed in Science, I have a background in Math too. In highschool, I completed the AP-Caluculus course with a score that allowed me to bypass any college math courses. However, I have refreshed my math skills since I recently took the Graduate Requisite Exam (GRE) and received high scores in the math section. I may have little experience in tutoring, but in all my past employment, I have been promoted to the point where I have trained new employees and received excellent feedback from the employees I trained.

A Little Bit About Me...

Being someone who likes to see the "big picture" of concepts and ideas, I struggled through math as a child, believing that I didn't understand it. I finally realized one day of the simplicity in it and actually began to enjoy solving problems one step at a time. I like to utilize trust and humor in teaching, giving kids an environment to feel safe and confident in. In doing so I have been able to earn their trust and get honest answers from them and in return show them that it is alright to be wrong as long as it helps them correct their ways to learn to do it correctly.
With a degree in Marketing and a year of school for mechanical engineering I have completed a number of calculus classes throughout the years. I graduated from California State University at San Francisco. While there I mastered my major of accounting as well as my minor in economics. I have over ten years' experience in all facets of accounting, audit and taxation. I have always been an exceptional mathematics student and my chosen field has enabled me to remain very strong in this area.
I spent one year tutoring accounting students who had difficulty grasping the basic concepts of accounting. I was able to explain the accounting concepts in different wording than the text books and I also created a "cheat" sheet to help them understand how to handle different accounting transactions.
