I have 6 years working with students from grade level 5 to grade level 9,individually in classroom settings as well as in small groups outside their normal classroom. Four and on half of these years were spent in the ELL Program helping Hispanic students to incorporate their use of the English Language in their classroom academics. I have the ability to speak Spanish fluently, as well as read and write it. I also have spent four years teaching an after school class helping some struggling students with their Math, Language Arts, and Science homework. Since I have been employed in the ELL Program, I am very comfortable working with small groups of kids and also in a one on one format.

I graduated with a 3.9 from Whitworth College in 1979. I taught a 1st/2nd grade class for three years. My teaching certificate is not current. I home schooled my 4 children- the oldest through 8th grade. My second son had a learning disability. I spent many hours researching the best methods of teaching him to read. He made the deans list his first quarter in college! I recently taught adults how to do enumeration for the 2010 Census Bureau. I lead a club for middle school students. I am responsible for planning and implementing activities and teaching, and supervising youth leaders. I can teach/tutor any subject except a foreign language or music.
