In high school I took Calculus, honors Geology, honors Chemistry, and honors English. I have three siblings that I help out with homework, as well as have tutored my fellow classmates in high school, so I can adapt to any learning style. I am currently going to Central Washington University. I am pursuing a degree in Communication studies with a double minor in Sociology and Spanish. It is important for a teacher to be able to mold their instruction to fit different individuals. It is this student diversity that makes tutoring such a valuable practice at the secondary level. No two students learn in the same way or at the same speed. I value being able to focus on one student at time so that I can discover how to best facilitate the transfer of knowledge and help that student to 'learn how to learn' by applying individualized learning techniques. I attended Heritage University for 3.5 years in pursuit of my Nursing degree. I have taken College math, written many college papers, and studied alot of science along the way. I also cordinated a mentor program through YVCC for almost two years. I have recently changed paths and with obtain my BA in criminal justice in less than a year.
