As a graduate in Accounting, I was given the tools to be able to teach and comprehend a lot of math skills. I was able to take both Business and Math Courses in college including: Business Management, Calculus, Business Accounting, and Algebra. During the last 4 years I have privately tutored students in math and 98% of them went from being F students to B-A students in both math and business courses. I love to teach students of all ages. Every person has the ability to learn! I have found the key is to establish a rapport with each student, and then find the method that works best for them. Some students learn better by hearing the concept. It is helpful for them to first have a conversation about what the subject matter is, and how it is used, and then proceed to the actual lessons. I attained my first degree in Supply Chain Management from Syracuse University in 2003. After working in that field for a few years, however, I chose to change my career path. I then went back to school at the City College of New York to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. I am happy to say that I am graduating this month (December 2010), and have not regretted pursuing this second degree at all. Through my college experiences I have completed over 220 credits in many subjects, with my strongest in the math, sciences and engineering.
