I like to teach with a light touch. As a parent I have nurtured teenagers through challenging times. My experience has taught me that most kids only want to study those subjects that interest them. Unfortunately, they have to study even their least favorite subjects. I have found that once they start to do better in a given subject, their interest in it increases and the grades improve soon afterward. Learning can be fun, but getting good grades is even more so.
I am a life-long learner, having earned my BA after enjoying two successful careers. I was a reporter for 10 years, then went to the corporate world. When I was downsized five years ago I ventured into other areas including teaching.

I am the first and only person in my family to graduate from college. Growing up, I saw how difficult life can be when one lacks formal education. I was determined to learn as much as I possibly could and landed scholarships to pay my way through undergraduate school. I graduate in three years by taking overloads.
