My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : I took Honors Pre-Calculus in eleventh grade and received an A+ for my hard work. Performing so well in this course allowed me to skip AP Calculus AB and move straight onto AP Calculus BC the following year. These concepts were again used in AP Calculus BC, so I know them very well and can explain them effectively.

I have helped my classmates and have had one official student as of this summer. However, I have learned how to explain concepts so that students dont just memorize, they will gain a thought process and applicable knowledge that will enable them to solve even the most complex problems. Having this mentality of preparation and success will being them to reach their goals.
Teaching new concepts, practice applying the new material, review, and more practice of the material to solidify the concepts.

I left full time teaching 3 years ago. I was the whole math dept. I taught 6,7,8,9th grade math in a private school. I did not realize how much I would miss it. I sometimes day dream about how I would teach a certain topic a different way. I have always thought that teaching is magical. Ever since I volunteered at Guilderland High School where I helped children with homework, I love teaching and being around with children. Once you put the effort into their learning and be there with them one step at a time until they finally understand the concept and/or get the answer, it is an amazing feeling.
I recently graduated from Syracuse University. I majored in finance and marketing management with a minor in information technology. In my finance courses, I have gained extensive knowledge in different areas of math. Apart from my academic studies, I joined clubs where I held leadership positions which allowed me build team building and leadership skills. When I was a junior in high school, I volunteered for the YMCA. I worked at Guilderland Elementary School, where I helped the kids with their homework. It was definitely a memorable experience.
