I have two years of experaince teaching in public schools and four years of experaince teaching in Christian schools. I have an advanced degree in information technology and a background in English education. I have learned something from each of my students in my yeears of teaching but I think that my first year taught me the most. I think of the famous quote by Nikos Kazantzakis, “The ideal educator turns into a bridge which they then invite students to cross… after the bridge is crossed students must make bridges of their own.” I earned a Master’s of Science degree earlier this year by studying a variety of subjects. I began my college journey in 2006 with the goal of spreading and teaching a love of books, reading and learning. The goal began to be met at Southeastern Missouri State University. Although students don't typically like math and accounting I tell them this is a means to an end. So to the parents, I choose to teach and tutor, this means I love motivating the student at all ages. I have taught math, economics, sociology, psychology, marketing, economics, social studies, geography, english, literature, music appreciation and eng ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient teacher who treats students with respect. It is my goal to reach all learners and meet their needs from all ability levels and cultural backgrounds. I involve students in the learning process by giving them choices and input in project development, technology integration and enrichment/acceleration.
I have taught elementary school for 16 years. One year in the Lincoln Country School District and 15 years in the Rockwood School District. I have taught grades 1,2,3 and 5. I served as grade level chair in each grade level, on all subject area commitees, and as teacher's representative to the PTO. I have tutored students for the before and after school program.
