I have a lot of experience in teaching and tutoring. I have tutored for about 10 years now, starting with my fellow classmates while still in school and now tutoring one-on-one, mostly for elementary-aged children. I also teach - I conduct a teenage choir, taught at a Ukrainian school for 7 years (grammar, writing, reading, vocabulary), and give individual piano lessons. Russian is one of my top subjects! Several years Russian language at college level.

I am currently a seniour at the University of Kentucky, and hope to graduate with a Political Science degree at the end of the summer of 2013. I have studied History, Political Science, and the Russian Language for nearly five years. I have had a deverse array of training in each of these areas. In History, I have training in European, particulalry German, Colonial American, Latin American and Byzantine history. I really enjoy teaching and watching students progress in their language studies. I understand it is sometimes difficult to learn a foreign language since I have undergone the process myself several times over. Therefore I am able to relate to my students and provide encouragement. I believe it is reassuring for them to know that once I was in the same place they are. I am patient and friendly, and I find this to be helpful in eliciting student engagement, especially when they feel shy about making mistakes.
