Political Science is one of my top subjects! As an international studies major, my college level focus was on the principles of political science as observed and lived out on the international stage. I have both theoretical and practical knowledge of what I teach. Having attended the American University in the nation's capital, I have daily access to the federal government, and the embassies of many nations. I believe that every child has the unalienable right to experience some success each and every day of their lives. My approach is hands-on, student centered and nurturing. I believe in learning by discovery and the use of manipulatives in a manner whereby the student learns without even knowing it. The discovery approach is best to grasping knowledge but to process any and all information is tantamount. Knowing what to do with the information is far more important than just possessing it. Therefore, my students need to learn how to utilize their knowledge by applying it a variety of situations for true understanding.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College, I had the opportunity to work in small work group settings and learned the value of tutoring firsthand. throughout high school, I had the opportunity to tutor younger students in first and second grade. Upon graduation, I was able to return to my old school and teach high school students how to excel in public speaking and forensic debate. These experiences have had a profound impact on my life. During college, I learned the value of writing through my experience as a columnist for the college newspaper and through years of extensive term papers.
