Fueling Our Future Leaders for Tomorrow's Success!

I have worked as a Sunday school teacher instructing children ages ten through sixteen. I also taught vacation Bible school during the summers. During my senior year of high school, I mentored a young lady named Olivia Draper with whom I received a $2500.00 scholarship from Champions for Children for college.I also worked as a substitute teacher for Madison County Schools in 2009-2010. I worked most of my substituting assignments at the alternative school. I fell in love with the desire to teach students while working with the students there. I noticed there is a need for passionate educators. I plan to begin the movement.
I am very patient, and I take pride in my ability to relate to so many different students at different grade levels. I am not strict, but I expect hard work and dedication from my pupils.

My focus and teaching philosophy is based upon the philosophical viewpoint of John Dewey and the premise that anyone can learn if the material is presented in a clear and concise manner. He believes that the purpose of education is to not only provide the student with the tools necessary to accomplish their goals, but also to help them build a foundation for lifelong learning. In addition, the key to succeed in real life necessitates knowledge, and a positive, challenging, and educational learning environment fosters that knowledge. The skills and knowledge which students learn should be integrated fully into their lives as citizens and human beings.
My number one goal is to obtain my Masters Degree in Education. A master degree in this field will provide me the opportunity to contribute to my community by providing students with quality education. I believe that my future career o ... read more

Following my graduation from USM, I had many experiences teaching a variety of children from many cultures. Having taught in a DODDS school in Karlsruhe, Germany I was exposed to the German way of teaching. My first year of teaching was in an inner city school thar offered many challengs. I believe my experience teaching children from diverse backgrounds prepared me to handle any situation in the teaching environment.
I love children and I love teaching them. I believe in an individualized style of teaching that caters to a child's individual needs. Because I love teaching, I am a patient and caring teacher. I believe every child can learn, and implement a way of learning around that belief. I like to make a difference and "see the light come on". When it does, I know I have done my job.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with young children since 2005. I started as a pre-school teacher with ages 3-5. For the past five years I have worked as an elementary school Teacher's Assistant. It was there when I got the most of my experience in classroom management and actually how to teach all children with different learning styles. I worked with grades second, pre-K, fifth, and first. I just recently graduated from Jackson State Unversity and I am currently teaching for HCHRA-Project Head Start. My classroom consists of 3, 4, and 5 year olds. I love working with elementary level aged children because it allows me the chance to help perpare them for the cahllenges ahead.
It brings me great joy working with all types of children. Although all children are different, it does not limit each child from learning. I do believe that all children are capable of learning. As an educator ... read more
