I am a retired special ed teacher. I worked with Learning Disabled, Emotionally Impaired, Cognitively Impaired, and Austistic students primarily in the high school. I was an Assistant Principal in a middle school for four years, and a teacher consultant for 30 years. In my role as a teacher consultant, I tutored students primarily in the high school. For the past 30 years, I have worked with special needs students. I believe that students learn at their educational level. The problem with education today, is that students are often in classrooms that stress learning at their frustration level. Many students are in general ed settings, but are forced to use materials that they do not fully understand. My degree in English is from IUPUI, where I participated in the publication of the campus literary magazine and a capstone thesis project. At Manchester, I wrote for the newspaper staff, co-founded the Literary Club, and helped produce the literary magazine. I have one year of Master's work from the University of Indianapolis, but have not earned an MA yet. I write every day and have excellent editing skills, from structural editing to copyediting.
