A Little Bit About Me...

I will adapt my teaching approach based on the needs and learning styles of the student - with language, I favor a practice-based environment, both teaching grammar and theory, but always putting the new skills in to practice with each session.
I have extensive knowledge and specialization in French language and English literature, with previous experience teaching both. I have worked as a teacher of English as a Second Language at two elementary level schools in Paris, France, as a private French tutor, and as an elementary writing/composition tutor. I am currently working on my final year to receive my bachelor's degree at Illinois Wesleyan University.

I have had a passion for education since I was a third grade student. I always thought I wanted to be a teacher "when I grew up." I earned a BA in psychology and started a Master's program in elementary education. Due to personal circumstances, however, I was not able to complete the program. I then taught early childhood and continued to volunteer in schools. I now work in the education department at Bradley University. I miss teaching greatly and have a deep passion for working with children. I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University in Elementary Education with a middle school endorsement in Language Arts and Social Studies. I was awarded the Highest Honors in Elementary Education Scholarship in 2009. My past experiences include tutoring college students in English/Composition, student teaching, completing and year-long teaching internship, teaching summer school, and substitute teaching.
