The reason I am able to teach French grammar in a non-intimidating, almost very relaxing way, is because I had to master it. I prefer to mix didactic and socratic teaching styles. Students must experience many subjects in a variety of ways. It is generally not sufficient to teach an advanced subject without asking the student to apply the information. In science and math exercises and questions are crucial, as these fields largely focus on giving the student tools that they can later apply to diverse situations where the answers to pertinent questions are not generally known and must be deduced.
