I graduated with two bachelor degrees(in English Literature and in Theater Arts). I had planned to continue my graduate studies to obtain my Oregon Teacher's Certificate. Due to legislation, there was a radically decreased need for teachers. I decided after my children were grown to return to school to obtain a Masters' degree. I have been a substitute teacher in Oregon for tutoring/detention while a teacher was on medical leave, and was a teacher's aide in California. I was also the team's scribe and grammatist while in graduate school. The other memebers of the team would submit their parts of the project and I was in charge of making sure everything was properly edited and grammatically precise.

A Little Bit About Me...

Over the last nine years I have pushed myself to succeed in academics. In 2010 I graduated with my masters degree in biology. During this time, I gained a strong understanding in many areas of science and math. I have experience writing research papers, laboratory reports, abstracts, grants, and oral and poster presentations. I have mentored students of all ages in science and statistics.
In order for students to retain what they learn, I beleive that academics should be interesting and applicable to real life. I also understand that not all students learn alike. Mentoring students in sports and academics has enabled me to adjust to the learning style of the individual.
