In many ways, learning can be customized to fit the individual interests of students, and I challenge myself to make each session one filled with new ideas and topics. I believe that the combination of hobbies and personal interests, along with the subject matter is the key to learning. While focusing on science, I strive to introduce other related topics and probe for what each student is interested in. Further, I believe in teaching through learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I think educators must take into account the different ways in which students learn. For instance, I've noticed that math students may have difficulty adding and subtracting fractions, but have no trouble whatsoever when I ask about dimes and quarters. If an instructor can build a bridge between new material and material the student has already mastered, the student's retention can significantly improve. By getting to know the interests and knowledge of each, I hope to discover bridges that will make learning an exciting and enjoyable process.
I graduated from Wake Forest in 2008, double-majoring in Mathematics and Physics.
