I use various methods to teach, based on the learning style of the individual. Whether a tactile learner, an auditory learner or a visual learner, I cater to the needs of person. I am of the belief that ALL individuals are able to learn, based on the methods, patience and wherewithal of the teacer. After retiring from the Navy I went to work in the school system as a security assistant. After one year I resigned and went to Norfolk State University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a major concentration in Learning Disabled and a minor in Emotionally Disturbed. Ten years later I earned a Master's Degree in Education from Cambridge College. I have been a Special Education Teacher for the past 16 years teaching in the Virginia Beach City Schools.
