I have recently graduated from the University of Delaware and intend to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry within the next few years. My major was in Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry; I also focused on Theatre, Japanese, French, English, and Biology. In terms of tutoring students in literacy/phonics/phonemic awareness, I am a big proponent of sequential and explicit phonics instruction that builds knowledge and competency step by step.
