Graduating with a business degree from Rutgers University found me on a financially comfortable, but spiritually unfulfilling career path. While continuing to work as a financial analyst, I returned to school part-time to complete my English degree at the University of Colorado before applying to graduate programs in education. After a year at the University of Vermont, I chose a slightly different but life-altering path of teaching overseas. As a member of the National Honor Society in junior high school, I tutored students in various subjects. MY love for words blossomed in high school and I pursued English and later journalism as my fields if study in college. I also most recently tutored elementary-aged children as a tutor with Champion Learning Center.
I believe that the best way to teach is to relate the subject matter to something that students love. For example, if a student loves to watch cartoons or play basketball, I would try to use an example related tot hat to help them.
