A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent the better part of the past 12 years teaching grammar, creative writing, literature, and basic English structure. I have my BFA in Creative Writing and my BA in English from Arkansas Tech University, and I have my MA in English from Highlands University. I have taught all levels of college composition, creative writing, and American Lit. Also, I have taught English at the high school level. Also, I have a minor in American History.
I believe in personal interaction with students – making them write, making them read – going over every detail, looking at the issues (grammar, punctuation, syntax, coherent structure (logic, unity, transitions, parallelism,)) and then re-writing and re-reading. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked continuously to provide individualized, innovative lessons and challenging curriculum designed to empower students to reach their full academic and social potential. I believe that the best way to do this is through first discovering each student's learning style and then tailoring instruction to make full use of those skills.
