Throughout my studies at a liberal arts College I gained a great diversity of knowledge and skills in many different subject areas. During my second year as a Religious Studies major, I began tutoring both native and ESL college students in Philosophy, theology, and a number of upper-level religious studies courses, many of which were writing-intensive. I am currently a graduate student working toward a Master's of Theology degree, and am working as a tutor for the on-campus Writing Center. Between my initial high school volunteering and my work as a writing tutor at my graduate school, I have experience will all kinds of tutoring, ranging from first grade reading to advanced degree thesis paper assistance.

A Little Bit About Me...

When I first started college, I had no idea what to major in. I started taking creative writing and literature classes though, and found my niche in English. I enjoy writing, reading, proofreading, checking grammar and punctuation, and find myself reviewing billboards and magazines for errors. I've been able to put these skills to actual use as an instructor, tutor, and advisor for college students. I have taught Business Writing, Business Communication, and Keyboarding classes. I have also had a great deal of experience with public speaking and have played piano for more than 20 years. In the end though, it's a great joy to see a student "get it" and to help them realize their full potential.
