A Little Bit About Me...

I believe a good teacher will be able to convey the information in way best-suited to the student. A teacher can be extremely knowledgable, but the student must be enabled to learn through motivation and having the material accessible/understandable. I want to make sure the student is on the same page as me, and understands concepts/approaches to learning rather than just memorizing the material.
During my research-based M.Sc. study in Microbiology, I TA'ed three undergraduate courses (General Biology & Introduction to Microbiology). Over the years, I have become more aware of myself so that I can learn more efficiently. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a BS degree in Mathematics. During my college career I volunteered my time at a walk-in tutoring center where I helped several students. My love of mathematics has led me to graduate school in Milwaukee where I am a teaching assistant. I have experience teaching Algebra and Trigonometry. Calculus is also one of my strong points.
I enjoy teaching, especially when I see my students improving. I understand practice, and the need to remember previous concepts is key to success in Mathematics. As a master’s student, I can often come up with several ways to solve a problem and choose the way that I think most of my students will understand. I also have a great deal of patience. I am a certified 6 - 12 Secondary Mathematics teacher. I have been teaching for 10 years with my last four being at the college level. I have been awarded the Who's Who a number of times. I just received my master's degree in mathematics from Marquette this spring.
I am a compassionate person who will do whatever it takes to help students succeed.
