I believe that all students are successful. Each child needs to be given the correct tools for him or her to learn properly. I teach to the child's needs in all situations and adapt and modify the lesson.
I have been a certified special education teacher for 10 years. I have had the fortune to teach in various environments in a handful of different states. I have taught elementary students for a majority of my career, but have also managed to squeeze in high school and middle students for three years. Academic background and professional experience are the first important considerations for an early childhood education teacher. Having undergraduate work geared toward early childhood is a must. Post graduate work in early childhood can only enhance an early childhood educator.
