Hidden Talents Tutoring

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a degree in computer science, I started tutoring in the Academic Skills Center at UWEC and discovered this was a hidden talent. My instinctive use of the Socratic method earned praise from the director right away. While working at UWEC, I gained experience with a variety of learning and developmental disabilities, including Asperger's syndrome, visual impairment, brain damage, and dyscalculia. I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a BS in Marketing Communications. My minor area of study while at River Falls was Psychology, and over the course of my college career, my interest in the topic has developed into a career goal. I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way.
