Students have many different learing styles. I always like to pay attention to my students and learn their individual learning style. It is important to differentiate for the benefit of the students. I have tutored elementary students during my tenure in the Air Force on a volunterr basis. I worked as a Introduction to Computers instructor at Keiser College for two semesters. I have a fascination with math and numbers. My extensive experience with budgeting and using spreadsheets and formulas has kept me fresh with my math skills. I recently tutored a 50+ adult to take a math skills test for the CRC. He passed, and was had such a sense of accomplishment, after almost giving up hope that he could pass it.

Take the child's level and increase them higher. Using whatever mode necessary. Hands on exsperience is usually the best. Various types of learning styles are incorporated. Modivation is very important. Self esteem is very important. The final outcome of a educated student is a well rounded and sucessful person.

I believe children learn by experiences and examples. Making it relevant and interesting makes them to want to learn. They begin to understand the purpose for learning the material. Children have different learning styles and every child doesn't learn at the same rate. Teachers must realize this when planning lessons. Students need to know that to have the basics such as a home, a car and food for their family, they need an education. Kids don't think about the future and how their decisions will determine the rest of their lives.
