My comments on tutoring Marketing : Beginning marketing class, junior level

I don't have much experience in tutoring students. However, in what experience I have, has been limited to college students and my my best friend's youngest daughter. Absolutely hated math with a passion. After tutoring her for a few weeks, she went to take a placement exam to determine what college class she would take math. She did very well on the exam, and her mom was impressed with how I was able to break things down in a way her daughter could understand.
Depends on the needs of the student. In my first meeting with best friend's daughter, I gave her a sample quiz to fill out to gauge where she was. Then, we began to work through areas where she was having the worst issues. I focused on those and explained things to where she could better understand. Try to customize to students intrest in order to keeep attention and make as entertaining as possible. Every child sees things from different eyes. I just teach them how to look. I know that as a student I would hear one explanation that all of a sudden made things so clear and seem so simple. I try to find this for every individual student.
I have helped students from my church for the past eight years in math science and english. I have also worked with my sisters first grade students in math. I enjoy working with youth. It is extremely rewarding to watch a child when that " i get moment" happens and their face lights up with pride, happiness and a sense of accomplishment.
