Being a student who had reading comprehension in early grades, I understand the shyness and frustration many students have with this difficulty. I respond to them with compassion, and often open up to them with a short story of my own experience. This way the student feels that I understand them and are more willing to learn the material I am trying to teach them. In the beginning I will sit down with the student and their parents to see what is their area of difficulty. I became the Language Training Director for a language services company. I supervised a teaching staff of 150 instructors who gave language instruction to businessmen and women who were relocating for business purposes. As a undergraduate Biology major and during the last two years I have tutored other undergrad students in English and Biology using books and also handwritten notes from students. Also we have used available internet resources. While tutoring students I have gained a better understanding of course materials because of my having to reexplain in another way for another person to understand.
