The Achievement Centers, our after school tutorial/diagnostic clinic and before and after school care, is available for all ages and subjects. Tutoring and diagnostic testing is available after school, evenings (Monday – Friday) and Saturday mornings. The clinic is available year-round. Our testing clinician and school psychologist offer a Psychoeducational Evaluation to all new students. The testing is scheduled for two three hour sessions on separate days during after school hours. The evaluation consist of various test measuring a student’s cognitive abilities, processing skills, IQ, and academic levels. The evaluation will determine a student’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as how they think, reason and process information. A conference will be held with the family and/or the student. My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : Basic learning skills are necessary to build a foundation in later learning. Learning to read, write, and speak are pertinent for success in learning.

I teach with a hands-on style. I incorporate various strategies based on the student's needs such as kinesthetic, visual, auditory, and a combination if needed. I observe and I assess student's strengths and weaknesses. Based on the information and results, I determine the correct strategy to use to help a student.

My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : Taught elementary school, mostly grades 3-6 most of my life. Excellent teacher with Superior ratings.

Prefer to facilitate learning and provide more hands on activities. Try to connect reading with writing as the two subjects are very much intertwined in the skills they take. Great at teaching across the curriculum to help students in subject areas that require reading of nonfiction
