Being a residential intensive case manager was the most accomplished life-changing job experience that I have done at Salisbury Behavioral Health, Inc.’s Deaf Services Center based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This experience enriched my knowledge of the deaf individuals with mental illness and their highly demanding environment. As an Intensive Case Manager, I worked with individuals who possess a wide variety of behavioral health disorders and mental illness, in addition to being Deaf and Deaf-Blind and communicate with individuals through American Sign Language. I have always had tutoring positions, whether it was for my peers in college, volunteering for the Salvation Army, or running after school programs after graduating. I am a PA certified tutor, with conflict resolution, mentor, and CERT training (Community Emergency Rescue Team). It is important to me to have a profession where I feel that I am helping other people to progress in their lives.
