Learn with experienced, successful tutor

My style of tutoring is creative flexibility. I assess the student's learning style and try to adapt to that, using different senses (kinetic, aural, oral) to trigger best responses. However, this is layered over a basic multi-part structure suited to the subject. I also like to set up a schedule of what our hour will be like, with some beginning exercises (usually recall from previous session). The rest of the hour would be structured with student input as much as possible. At the end, I like to introduce some free time to talk about the lesson and about any new ideas.
I have a masters degree in Enviornmental Biology and a BA in pre-med sciences. I also have an AA degree in Dietetics. My other hat is a long career in writing, editing, and publishing. As an MBA student, I constantly had to conduct research in challenging fields, write reports, train others and make appropriate recommendations. I have particularly enjoyed carrying on tasks that required teaching others, presenting personal research and challenging specific teaching styles. I have had the wonderful pleasure of teaching children for quite some time. Just as I do, each child learns in their own way. I work to find examples from my own educational experiences that will show them that I empathize with their need as well as to help that light bulb go on for them. A Little Bit About Me...

I recieved what I believe was an excellent education from the University of Colorado. Although my major was pharmacy, and I am indeed a registered Pharmacist, I have many years of education in the areas of chemistry, biology ad anatomy. I have never formally tutored students professionally, but I have informally tutored pharmacy technicians in the preparation for their state certification exam.
I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge and expertise with children as well as adults very much. I have a high degree of patience and respect for students that have been intrusted to me to further their education.
