A Little Bit About Me...

I went to college after high school and received a Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Teaching from Eastern Michigan University. I am not a certified teacher but I do have experience with teaching. I also worked as a trainer over the phone and online for using computer software with McKesson Pharmacy Systems in Michigan. I decided to go back to college and recently graduated from Trident Technical College in South Carolina, with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with focus in Accounting. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.80 GPA. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and an alumni member. I served as Treasurer for two terms in Phi Theta Kappa. My teaching style is very hands on. I understand that students learn in a variety of ways. Some are hands on, and need to actually get their hands on the project to understand. Some learn by seeing it. They have to see it and then maybe write it and learn by visualizing. Some learn by listening. They can listen to a lecture and hang on to every word. I understand that all children are different, and therefore lessons have to be taylored to fit each child's learning needs. I love children and enjoy teaching. When I was teaching in a public school, I was very well liked by both children and parents. I was there for every child; not just the good ones. My goal was to take the child that other teachers talked negatively about in the lunchroom and show them that I had no problems with that same child. Teachers should not stereotype. A Little Bit About Me...

I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there. I have chosen to be a teacher because I believe I can make learning fun for my students. I like to relate subjects to each other so that students can see how everything is actually intertwined. I like to use direct instruction, cooperative learning, peer coaching, manipulatives, simulations, and technology. I believe that teachers need to use a variety of methods to facilitate learning.
