I have earned two degrees. At Georgia Southern University I recieved a B.S. in Nutrition/Food Sciences. While in Statesboro, ga completing my studies I served as an after school tutor for elementary students in the Bulluch County after school program. I recently graduated from Sanford Brown Institute in Atlanta, GA where I earned a degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology. My ultimate goal is to be able to provide nutritional guidance to pregnant mothers in addition to being an ultrasound professional. I have a talent for oral and written communication. Teaching, in some form, has been a part of my life for the last 20 years. During that time I discovered for myself that students learn in different ways. I believe in a positive and encouraging teaching style utlizing varying explanations. I love instructing one on one and seeing the lightbulb turn on when a student gets it. From past experience I have learned that everyone has a specific way of learning and therefore you must accompany to that. I believe that patience is one of the most important qualities any tutor could have. I believe once students realize that everyone needs help in life, whether it be work or school, they will succeed and completely change their view on tutors and their future education.
As a student at Kansas State University, I am currently enrolled in the Architectural Engineering degree and I am completing my last math class as of now. I believe I would be a great candidate for this position because I have recently taken the three calculus classes and now differential equations. Also, i have an extensive background in different fields of physics which broadens of the everyday use of math as well.
