I student taught in 5th grade and 1st grade for Wichita Public Schools. I am thankful that I had some "hard" teachers and professors throughout my education. I have honestly grown to understand the importance of success and how nothing worth having comes easily. My approach to learning is straight forward. Who? What? When Where? How? Learning should be fun. However, I donot believe in holding anyones hands. I believe that each and every child is capable of learning. I like to make learning fun and exciting for children by relating what they are learning to the real world. For instance, if I am helping a student learn money value. I might pretend that I am customer purchasing something from the student (cashier). They then have to give me the correct change. I am a very postive and compassionate person that cares deeply about the children I teach. My students sense this and this helps them be more confident in their abilities to learn and in turn more sucessfull.
