As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I found both programs extremely enjoyable and found that all of my students were eager to learn and improve their skill set.

From the moment I began French in high school, it became a passion for me. I took 4 years of courses in 3 years' time, and tested into 4th semester level (highest possible) French upon entering college. I knew all along I wanted to be a teacher, thus becoming a French teacher was perfect logic. I earned my BS in Ed, and having attended a liberal arts college, making cross-curriculum oriented lessons was easy with the diverse studies I had done. While attending college, I worked as a peer-tutor in a program designed to help struggling students. I fit my teaching style to the student's learning style. I try to follow the model of my physics advisor, who has an excellent ability to figure out how a student learns best, then adapt his teaching and explanations accordingly.
