As an undergraduate student at Utah State University, I spent two years working as a Undergraduate Teaching Fellow, a Teacher's Assistant, and a Supplemental Instructor. I taught labs and assisted students with understanding information in the subject areas of Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology. I have always loved to read and write, and my love of the written word is what led me to obtain both my BA and MA in British and American Literature. The students I have worked with are primarily ages 11-18, but my experience with my own children includes the primary grades. I have tutored most subjects including reading, writing, science, history and math (through algebra).
I believe that children are born smart. Some of them have special learning challenges and some have been taught to believe that they are not smart.
