Laid back but serious as student learning subject matter is the most important factor in yuoring.
Have tutored for five years with Wyzant, Tutoring Center of Herndon and on my own. My main concern is too make sure student is confortable in his/her understanding the subject material. The money part of the education of young people is really not a priority per se unless the individual student gets an understanding and hopefully confidence in taking on the subject at hand I tutor mainly in Math (Algebra, Geometry and Trig, but also Accounting, social studies, Finance, English , Reading Comp, Vocabulary

A Little Bit About Me...

Guided by experiences in my life and lessons I’ve learned through teaching, I’ve come to understand that all children learn differently. My goal is to first determine where the students need help, based on their learning style, and then focus my knowledge and experience to help them using proven teaching techniques and my own teaching methods. In other words I talk in words they can understand whether I'm tutoring a 4th grader or a college student. It is my goal to make the subject less scary and more fun.
From second semester freshman year I have tutored mathematics and chemistry. First it was at the campus learning center at Westminster College, then I went on to pursue a graduate degree in chemistry at Penn State University where I found that I like to teach more than I wanted to be a PhD Chemist, I was a teaching assistant for both Physical Chemistry Lab and General Chemistry for non-majors. It was this teaching experience that led me to tutor for the PSU Ag Science department in both chemistry and mathematics. I have also volunteer ... read more
