please feel free to write me so i can help kids learn.

I have plenty that i've been tought so maybe using some of them could help the students understand better.
I am only 19 and i graduated class of 2011. I've had a lot of help when i was in school so i know it can be stressful and tough but i found it a lot easier when i got help from people. Kids may be shy or maybe they just find the work is to hard and there scared to get help but i'm easy and outgoing i don't force kids to do there work. It takes time for them to understand how to work things out how to talk to teachers.

Hands-on, smiles-on!

I am very laid back and flexible. While I might be calm I only have 3 rules, 1. Be respectful, 2. the words "I can't" are not allowed :), and 3. have fun! I tend to create games based on the skills that are being taught and I'm not into lecturing, my approach is very hands. Learning can be fun!
Hey! My names Bethy! I'm 13 years old and in 8th grade. I've been tutoring since I was in 5th grade. I can tutor all ages in almost any subject. Last year I had the highest GPA in my whole school! I love teaching anyone who is willing to learn! I also teach children with learning disabilities and special needs.

Become a star, through dedication and desire to succeed!!

I love interacting with my students and finding out what drives them and what they feel hinders their success. I choose activities that make learning fun while making the information relevant and easy to understand. I also strive to build up a student's academic confidence. I believe all students can be successful in anything they put their mind to, sometimes it may take longer for the light bulb moment but I am willing to do anything I can to ensure they reach the point where they fully understand what they are learning and can apply their knowledge not just recite it.
I have taught in both suburban schools at the high school level and urban schools at the elementary/middle school level. While teaching I previously have tutored students. My main experience teaching has been various science courses but I have also taught math and reading. I began my education thinking I would b ... read more

I am a dedicated educator eager to resume tutoring. I offer a proven track record of commended performance teaching and assisting students in grades preschool-12th, with a passion for education and a commitment to optimizing student and school success.
I believe that teaching is a great challenge, and even though some types of learning are best conveyed in a traditional fashion, for most other types of learning, a non-traditional form of is more enjoyable. As a future educator, I will have a whole classroom full of individuals with different learning styles, different strengths, weaknesses, attitudes, lifestyles, and different motivations, and because of this, I will have to make sure that my students feel connected to what they are learning.

My passion is teaching, it always has been. If I could describe my teaching style in one word, it would be caring. Children need to be cared for and know that they can trust you as their teacher. Once that trust is formed, they will be more apt to succeed. My experience teaching four and five year old Pre-K students has made me stop and appreciate the little things about education. At that age, they are so inquisitive about everything and I found myself wanting to teach them about everything!
Upon graduating from Radford University in Virginia, I accepted a position teaching Pre-Kindergarten at Cheshire Country Day School, located in Milldale, CT. I worked at CCDS during the previous summers as an aide while I was on breaks from school. I came into education as a career later in life. I have never experienced such a rewarding career. Due to my love for this profession and working with children I have recently starting pursuing my teaching certification. I believe that every child should have the opportunity in school to meet their potential and achieve academic success in schools. Many times this requires assistance outside of the classroom setting. I am patient, easygoing and encouraging to my students. I also feel that every child learns differently so I take an unstructured approach and open approach to learning. My main goal is to make a difference in a child's life and help them to succeed and feel confident in school.
I have been working as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for the past 5 years. A good portion of my job is working one on one with children outside of the classroom. I have experience in a ... read more

As a psychology major I understand that all children have a different way of learning. It is a challenge in the classroom to provide instruction for multiple students with multiple ways of learning. I believe that with the assistance a student receives from tutoring, no matter what age, they will be able to understand themselves and their way of learning as well as the material. I am a very patient individual that works hard at helping students to determine what style of learning works best for them. This will not only provide them with instruction outside of the classroom but it will also provide them with the ability to succeed in the future.

I would say that all people are capable of learning and improving their abilities, knowledge, and skill. My experience has been that if a child, youth, or adult is given the space in which to learn, and introduced to material in a patient manner, in the style that works for them (be that through explanation or visual learning, etc) they will take the initiative to learn and grow at the pace and direction which works for them. People are naturally inclined to learn and grow, and my experience is that when given the opportunity and supportive role of a teacher, they will become interested in learning and continue to do so.

A Little Bit About Me...

Working with elementary students of all ages and levels has made me believe that all children can learn if given the opportunity and the right instruction. Not everyone learns the same way, and it is our job as teachers to make sure each student gets the instruction they need. If a student does no understand something, then we have to find another way to explain it so they do. Our job is not done until the student succeeds in learning.
As a recent education graduate I am eager to begin working with students, but in the present economy, teaching job vacancies are rare. I feel that tutoring students would still let me do what I want, and love, to do. A year long internship, student teaching, and masters level education courses have prepared me to teach students and gave me much experience as well as opportunities to learn.

I am the type of teacher who dedicates herself to learning how my students learn. I teach to my student’s interests and learning styles. As a dedicated teacher I also pride myself into finding different ways to approach my instructions. This includes something simple as using white boards, manipulatives and different types of technology to approach a subject. I give my students clear expectations of student work and participation in every lesson I present. I am not opposed to approaching my lessons differently if the student did not understand the lesson the first time around. Above all else, I know that students who have not built a good rapport with their teacher will not learn from that teacher.
