More About This Tutor...

Since I was in Senior High School, I have always taught my classmates and fellow students mathematics and physics owing to the fact that they are subjects I enjoyed. As a tutor, I like to get the students engage in the thought process behind a mathematical concepts before proceeding to solving the maths problem. I often use real life examples that students can relate to in explaining both difficult and easy concepts. I found this approach to be helpful to student's learning experience.
I have had the opportunity to teach college students for 3 years while getting my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University. I tutored courses such as Calculus 1, Calculus II, Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. Teaching these subjects allowed me to explain and breakdown difficult math concepts in a way that is easy and simple to understand.

A Little Bit About Me...

After retirement, as a helpdesk and in my private practice as a computer integrator and troubleshooter, I find that one of the challenges confronting a teacher with an older patron, is to be able to cross the boundaries of patron’s preconceived notions, which restricts him from using many features that a computer has to offer. In one instance, when I delivered a new computer to an older client, I offered to install free Open Office suite, since she did not have the Microsoft’s suite. Very reluctantly, she consented to try it out. We loaded some of the Microsoft doc-format files from her flash drive where she previously saved them. They sprang nicely in Open’s Writer, a look alike of Microsoft Word 2003. She was visibly impressed.
