A Little Bit About Me...

I have over twenty years teaching in the public and private schools in New Jersey. I have taught English, Math, Social Studies, and Business. I am a NJ state certified teacher in elementary and secondary education and recently completed my special education certification so that students requiring special educational accommodations can be properly recognized and taught. I have earned a BA in Education, a BS in Business Administration and two Masters Degrees.
My teaching style is focused on student achievement. Many parents complain that their child does poorly on tests. This is often a result of inadequate teaching practices which fail to recognize individual learning differences in students. I began tutoring K through 5th graders at an elementary school. Many of my students only spoke Spanish at home. From then, I continued tutoring elementary school students with a wide range of abilities. A few of my students were gifted, and we worked on sharpening their already existing skills. Many of my students struggled in a specific area, and we were able to incorporate general study skills into our lessons. I was able to help all of my students with book reports and other projects that were more time consuming than regular homework assignments.
