Patience. I would have to say, I would have to learn the needs of the student, what they already know and don't know, and use what they know to help them understand what they don't know. I would be fairly straightforward I guess. I believe that since all children learn in different ways, when you can't get in the "front door", or through normal teaching methods, you must " go around to the back door" and try something else.
