I have a positive and patient way of getting through to students. Science was my favorite subject matter in college and I like to break down difficult information into terms that are easier to understand and follow. For example, I like to break down scientific terms by their roots. In doing so, my students not only remember what the terms mean for that class but can also apply that knowledge in future class work. My teaching style includes using the strengths of the interests of the child in teaching. To aid my child to read, I used his favorite card game (Yugioh) to aid him. I am hands on while teaching. I make sure that the learning is not boring. I will use card games to aid in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I use a combination of words plus visuals to aid the learner. I will write down the formulas or work out a problem for the student so that the example can be followed on other problems. I use acronyms for teaching as well. A Little Bit About Me...

My style of teaching is very associative. I like to take any material that my student is trying to learn and present it in a way they can relate to, or may apply to them directly. The different lifestyles of our students affect their learning behaviors. A child who has never been more than ten miles from home and whom has never seen a play, may find it difficult to relate to William Shakespeare. A child who lives in financial distress may find it easier to understand mathematic principals if they apply them to money.
