I believe that understanding the learning style of a child or an adult can provide a map to success and a key way to avoid frustration. Each person seems to have his or her particular blend of techniques for mastering educational subject matter. My students learn in many ways—by seeing and hearing; reflecting and acting; reasoning logically and intuitively; memorizing and visualizing. Therefore, my teaching methods also vary. I like to use a variety of media to enrich my learning experience. This can be adapted to the preferred method of the student. It is a great challenge to get the student to think critically and so I focus on what is of interest to the student, while introducing necessary grammatical concepts. It is not good enough to learn in a rote manner, but rather it is important to organically learn the target language.
