Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! I love to read! I recently tested for this subject at Southside Virginia Community College and did very well. I have always had a love of reading and have always tested highly in reading comprehension.

High School graduate, Robert E. Lee, Staunton,Va. 1971. Blue Ridge Community College, Weyers Cave, Va. 1 year Chemistry, on Merit list. Graduated from Staunton School of Cosmetology, Staunton, Va. 1980. Have had my own cosmetology business from then to the present. Southside Community College, massage therapy, included anatomy and physiology, 2013. Studied business and teaching, at VCU, 1971-72, did not complete degree program.
Relaxed, personal, but concentrate on learning, making progress at student's pace and level of achievement. I will try to make learning fun and interesting.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a long history of tutoring experience along with substitute teaching at The Baylor School in Chattanooga from 2000 until 2008 and prior to that at various private homes for 2 years. I have a BA degree in Economics/International Studies/French from the University of TN – Chattanooga, a certificate in French from the Sorbonne in Paris and 23 hours in English from Arizona State University. I also have graduate work in non-profit management with a concentration in fundraising. A Little Bit About Me...

After watching a documentary on teachers teaching in the inner city, I decided to switch my major from Pre-Law to Elementary Education. I've always loved learning and I wanted to be able to convey that same message to my students. In college, I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Psy. of the Exceptional Child. This minor allowed me to study children who are gifted and children with special needs. I am currently working on a Masters in Special Education because I've learned an extensive amount of knowledge on this subject working for the Early Intervention program in my area.
I've always believed that children learn by doing.
