My teaching style would best be described as finding the best methods to help students learn a subject and then using them. No two students are exactly alike so why teach them that way?
I have been employed by Toledo Public Schools since 1999. I have taught French, Math,Social Studies and Special Education Classes. Some of the classes I was a long term sub teacher where I taught for three or more months at a time. I have also taught on a daily basis English, Science,Health and a variety of other subjects. I have always been a tutor of sorts. I love to teach kids because of the sparkle they get in their eyes when they finally understand what they are being taught. Each child have a different learning style so I try to work with them to see what works for them. I have worked with kids who have ADD and the gifted. I was Director of the Paralegal Studies Program at Stautzenberger College (Cleveland) which educates students for postitions in the legal field and court reporting. I developed the courses and conducted seminars on federal funding, grants and contracts.
Totally student-centered. I encourage rather than demand. I believe that it is my responsibility to find the teaching method which is most effective for a student to learn. I just graduated from Siena Heights University in December of 2010. I majored in social studies education and minored in math education. I took education classes and acquired over 250 hours of field experiece through out my time at Siena. I did my student teaching at St. John's Academy in the falls of 2010.
