Portuguese is one of my top subjects! I am Brazilian and I lived in that country for 25 years. I have two B.A.'s made there and I have also worked and studied in different countries. I have an extensive international experience on teaching Portuguese language for foreigners in the five continents. I was the official Portuguese language teacher at the Universidad Nacional San Antonio Abad of Cusco, Peru. I use printed and digital material in my classes which are very effective, especially designed for Spanish and/or English speakers who want to learn Portuguese. I have noticed an increase in the interest and importance of this language, so much so that The Economist magazine released an article on the subject that I think is worth reading: http://moreintelligentlife.com/node/4302 We are talking about the third European language most spoken in the world (only behind Spanish and English) - 240 million total speakers, 9 countries. 15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have been tutoring for over 15 years both in students homes or at public locations such as coffee shops or the public library. My education and experience are broad. I was educated at "Ivy League" level schools and purposefully educated myself in a large variety of the humanities, which in essence all tie together. Basic courses up through most High School material outside of the Humanities are not difficult. Actually, while my education has been primarily in the Humanities, the material I see the most in tutoring is Algebra and Geometry!
I have a way of perceiving the difficulty the student has, and am able to explain the material in a simple way that makes it easy for students to grasp. I enjoy tremendously my interaction with pupils. I like to observe how their self esteem increases as they master difficult concepts. I help them tackle these concepts by introducing more efficient techniques and by presenting information from a different perspective.
