Eperienced results-based tutoring

I believe that the learner and instructor must work collaborative in order to be most effective. I believe in applied learnign which means that not only are the basics and mechanics necessary to form a foundation, but the learner must be able to see how the learning can benefit him or her now and in the future. I lean on case studies and items in the news to maximize interest in the learning program. Additionally, I am a consistent user of positive reinforcement. A Little Bit About Me...

I really do not have a teaching style yet. A one on one setting is what I am used to. I am open to different teaching techniques depending on the help the child requires. The internet is available and has many different techniques to learning different subjects I can research as I see fit.
I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. I do not have professional experience teaching however I have experience tutoring my niece who I have been responsible for since she was 5. She is now 12 and a straight A student. My experiences involve the teaching and performance of music education. I am a skilled performer on the trombone, keyboards, drums and percussion. I am qualified to teach brass instruments at levels k-12 and stringed instruments at k-5. I have performed professionally in 7 states, Italy and Belgium, while serving in the military. I have created a choir for prime-time European television broadcasts in Brussels and Vicenza. I am a charter member of the Brussels chapter of "Toastmasters International". A Little Bit About Me...

Although I believe the FCAT is a test that demands respect, I do not teach to the FCAT. My instruction is differentiated for each child and if they are able to give me more, I push them to their ability. My goal for my students is to teach to the highest level they excel in using a variety of methods........I want my students to be well-rounded in their abilities, not just able to pass a test. When I work with your child, they will look word to seeing me and I will look forward to watching and helping them grow. The best part of all is that their skills all build on one another and the difficulty to tackle new concepts is not as threatening to them because I leave them with tools in hand.
