My comments on tutoring C++ : I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Statistics and have experience teaching undergraduates and graduates.

My diverse skills and experience in mathematics, statistics, and computer programming should be advantageous in this circumstance. I have worked with mathematical software and statistical models since 1989 and love doing collaborative statistical and mathematical research to solve challenging problems. I hold a PhD in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Statistics. I recently worked as an independent machine learning consultant. In this capacity, I dealt routinely with HMM (Hidden Markov) models, neural networks, and LSA and LDA analysis of text data. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in Microbiology and an MA in Zoology. I have 7-8 years experience teaching biology, ecology, microbiology and environmental science at the college level. In addition I have many years experience in software engineering, technical writing, software quality assurance, and technical editing.
In the classroom I rely on traditional lecture, supplemented by Powerpoint presentations, animations, and lists and diagrams on the white board. I usually assign a research paper. Students have different learning styles, so I try to adapt my tutoring style to best suit the needs of the student. I have a unique ability to explain complicated concepts on a simple level. I try to make sure that the student really understands the concepts, rather than just teaching him or her to mechanically do the work.
